Belter 20

By the time a child is ready for a 20-inch bike, their riding has typically evolved beyond simple loops around the park. They're tackling hills, covering longer distances, and pushing for more speed. The Early Rider Belter 20 is built for exactly this stage - and its Sturmey Archer 2-speed automatic rear hub is what sets it apart.

Rather than asking young riders to manage a gear shifter, the automatic hub reads their cadence and speed and shifts between two ratios seamlessly. Flat ground gets the top gear; hills and slower speeds drop back automatically. The technology is proven, reliable, and entirely invisible to the rider - which is precisely the point.

The 6061-T6 aluminium V-Brake frame provides the lightweight foundation the rest of the bike is built on, while the rigid aluminium fork ensures steering remains direct and confidence-inspiring. At 7.7kg, the Belter 20 Auto is lean for its class - meaningful when a child is learning to manage a bigger bike.

Tektro 837AL V-Brakes with JL350-RS child-sized levers deliver the stopping power needed for faster riding on 20-inch wheels. Schwalbe Billy Bonkers 20 x 2.0" 60TPI tyres provide excellent grip and a confident feel on tarmac, gravel paths and light off-road. The Crux 2pc alloy crankset with 34t chainring and dual chain guard keeps the drivetrain clean and maintenance-friendly.

The 560mm wide butted aluminium bars with 1" rise give riders a natural, comfortable position on longer rides. Available in Brushed, Forest Green, Electric Purple, and Nordic Blue.
