Belter 16

As children grow in confidence and capability, their bike needs to grow with them. The Early Rider Belter 16 is designed for riders roughly aged 4 to 6 who have mastered the basics and are ready for a bike that can keep up with their expanding world.

The 6061-T6 aluminium V-Brake frame keeps weight firmly in check at 5.7kg - a figure that matters enormously when a small child is picking up a fallen bike, carrying it up steps, or controlling it on a descent. The rigid aluminium fork provides dependable, direct steering, and the sealed bearing headset ensures smooth, low-maintenance operation ride after ride.

Tektro 837AL V-Brakes, operated by child-sized JL350-RS levers, deliver confident, predictable stopping power. The single-speed drivetrain - featuring a Crux alloy crankset with 32-tooth chainring and dual chain guard - is straightforward and reliable, letting children focus on having fun rather than managing complexity.

Schwalbe Billy Bonkers 16 x 2.0" 60TPI tyres are a significant upgrade from basic entry-level rubber: higher TPI count, better grip, faster rolling, and more confident cornering. Combined with double-walled AL6061 rims and black stainless steel spokes, the wheels are strong enough for the kind of riding that 5-year-olds are enthusiastic about.

The 500mm wide butted aluminium bars with a 1" rise and 19mm grip area position young riders naturally and comfortably. Every component choice on the Belter 16 reflects Early Rider's belief that children's bikes should be genuinely good - not just good enough. Available in Brushed, Sage Green, Violet Haze, and Arctic Blue.
